The Celtics have traded Daniel Theis to the Chicago Bulls. Big man Mo Wagner will be sent to Boston as a part of the deal.

Just one day after missing a game-winning shot against the Bucks, Theis is gone. The German big man spent three and a half years in Boston, finding more success as time went on. He has been a staple in the Celtics’ starting lineup for the past year and a half. Theis is set to receive a big payday this offseason, as his contract expires at the end of the season. Many have speculated that Theis could receive anywhere from $10-15 million on the open market.

Jeff Teague and Javonte Green are reportedly also leaving Boston, per Keith Smith. Smith reported that Teague will be sent to Orlando and subsequently waived as a part of the Evan Fournier deal from earlier today. Green will be sent to Chicago as a part of the Theis-Wagner, three-team trade.

Wagner, a fellow German big man, will join Boston’s center rotation. His contract is much cheaper than Theis’, but will also expire at the end of the year. Wagner is averaging 7.1 points and 2.9 rebounds on the year. Although his three-point shooting numbers are down this season (31.0%), his offensive game has been his primary draw since his days at Michigan.

According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Globe, backup big man Luke Kornet has also been rumored to be headed to Boston.

The full trade is as listed below:
