Player of the Game: Smart Makes a Big-Time Impact
The Celtics came away with a 16 point victory over the Bulls last night, and the player of the game wasn’t the one who topped the scoring column. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were back on the floor together, but it was Marcus Smart who was voted the player of the game.
Finishing the game with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 11 assists, Marcus did a little bit of everything for the C’s last night. After having a small rough patch earlier in the season, Smart has been nothing short of amazing in the past few games for the Celtics. His impact can be felt through his playmaking, his small bursts of scoring, and as always his spectacular defense. As Kemba Walker and Tatum made their returns to the floor, it was easier for Smart to step back a bit and take on a role where he was more of a facilitator than a primary scorer. This was always where he thrived the most, and with the team at near full-strength again, hopefully, he can continue to shine in that role.
Boston will look to extend their winning streak to three tomorrow against the San Antonio Spurs at 8:30 PM EST on NBC Sports Boston.
