What a Week for the C’s

Great bounce back week for the Celtics so far. Got a win against the Hornets, scary win versus Atlanta on Friday, a solid dub in Chicago, and then there’s the fact that we got 5 guys on the first returns of All-Star voting. I mean, I know Boston has one of the bigger NBA fan bases, but 5 guys is still amazing. Kemba has a real shot at being a starter this season, and he’s just barely trailing Kyrie, of all people. If you’re reading this and haven’t voted for the All-Star game yet, or just haven’t voted in the last 24 hours, make sure to go help Kemba and the rest of the guys out.

Tatum, Brown, and Hayward are making solid pushes to the game. I highly doubt any of them will be starters, though, which means that the fan vote won’t matter for them. It’s just nice to see their names there will the rest of the big dogs in the league. The way the reserves work is through votes from the coaches. If I were a coach in the NBA, I would have to seriously consider Brown and Tatum mainly, and leave Hayward on the backburner. He’s having a solid year, but that injury really killed the flow he was in, and there are too many other talented players in the Eastern Conference. If it were me voting I’d give the spot to Brown over Tatum strictly because he’s shooting the ball much better than Tatum is. They’re putting practically the same numbers, yet Brown is shooting the ball a whopping 10% better from the field, as well as about 3% better from behind the arc. Those are pretty significant numbers if you ask me. In a perfect world, we see both guys make the team, but in reality I think they’re both fighting for the same spot. In the end, I think Tatum will get the nod simply because he’s widely seen as the better player, which is crazy since their putting up almost identical stats.

And then there’s the big guy himself - Tacko Fall. Oh what a world we live in where Tacko Fall gets to be so high up on the All-Star ballot returns. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love to see it, it’s just crazy to see. I mean, the guy is averaging the most points and rebounds per 36 minutes, so I guess it makes sense that he should be considered an All-Star. I stand by it 100%. Tacko Fall for All-Star 2020. Let’s make it happen people.
