Joel Embiid Dominated Robert Williams and Jayson Tatum's Sloppy Offense
Boston has had an interesting go of things in the past two games. They got roughed up by the Sixers on night one of a back-to-back and then proceeded to earn a gritty win over the New York Knicks on night two.
Joel Embiid stole the show on night one. He dominated Robert Williams and the Celtics all night long. In the teams’ three meetings this season, Embiid has almost as many free throws as the entire Celtics roster combined. He knows how to manipulate the NBA’s rules and use them to his advantage.
Jayson Tatum has looked off in the last couple of games as well. He has consistently gotten off to slow starts against both the 76ers and the Knicks. While he managed to turn things around against New York, this sort of offensive cold spell breeds concern. His isolation-heavy style of offense has garnered criticism all season long. He is one of the top players in the NBA in terms of isolation frequency but ranks near the bottom in terms of effectiveness.
Tristan Thompson made his return against the Knicks and provided some great physicality in a game where the C’s desperately needed it. He finished the game with seven points, eight rebounds, and a monster putback dunk.
Also, comment down below, who would you most want to add to this current Celtics team - prime Paul Pierce, prime Kevin Garnett, or prime Ray Allen?
